Mind The Gap - Part 3.

Luke 12:22-34.

When we have to wait for something it can often have the effect of increasing our anticipation, but if we have to wait for it too long the anticipation can be lost, and we move onto something else. This Sunday we are going to talk about keeping the anticipation as we “Mind the gap.”

Mind The Gap - Part 2.

Luke 12:22-34.

If you go to London, you will hear the warning “mind the gap” every time you go on the underground. On Sunday morning, in part two of this mini-series in Luke, we hear the warning of Jesus to “mind the gap” between what we say we believe and the way we live.

Mind The Gap-Part 1.

Luke 12:1-21.

There are some “gaps” that we can appreciate and admire, like the Grand Canyon, but then there are other gaps that aren’t so good, like one in your roof. Sunday morning Jesus talks about a gap He names hypocrisy.

Divided House

Luke 11:14-36.

Division seems to be everywhere and over everything today. But division is nothing new; as long as there have been people on the earth, there has been division. This Sunday, as we pick back up in Luke, we look at division and unity.

Core Analysis

Luke 11:37-54.

We have all had the experience of picking up a really good-looking apple or other piece fruit and biting expectantly into it, only to find that what is underneath is not the same. On closer inspection, we discover the center is bad. Sunday morning we look at Core analysis because Jesus can already see what lies beneath.

Luke 11:1-13.

Have you ever asked someone for something so audacious you couldn’t believe it when they actually gave it to you? How about God? What do you ask God for and what makes you think He would give it to you?

Follow Me

Luke 9:43-62.

When we are looking for direction to our destination, it is a relief when someone comes along and says, “follow me!” But how do we feel if they start to lead us down a path where there are unforeseen hurdles?

Against The Odds

Luke 10:1-24.

Ever set out to play a game or do a job where you knew the odds were against you? Jesus sends His disciples out on assignment and it can seem like it is against the odds until we realise who is behind it.

Neighborhood Plan

Luke 10:25-42.

Most towns have some kind of plan in which they outline where they are going to add new growth and bring in new neighbors. God has a growth plan too to bring in new neighbors, but it involves his people understanding who their neighbor is.

The Perfect

Luke 8:40-56.

Identity theft is a big problem and we should take steps to prevent it. This should include using phones and tablets that recognise their owners touch to open for them but no one else; you must have the perfect touch. But is our identity worth protecting unless we have received the perfect touch ourselves?

Fearful Faith

Luke 8:22-39.

If you have ever been out on a sailing boat, you probably know there is a tipping point where if you go over too far it’s not coming back. It happens in stormy conditions where the force is too much, and it can happen in our lives in stormy conditions when fear can overwhelm us and tip the balance. Tune in this Sunday @ 9:30 a.m. on Facebook or YouTube.

Scarcity: Obstacle

or Opportunity?

Luke 9:1-17.

How full is your glass? Are you a half full or a half empty kind of person? The answer to that question may depend on whose eyes you are looking at the glass with rather than the quantity in the glass which is the same whichever way you see it.

Who Are You?

Luke 9:18-27.

Have you ever played the game Who am I?  You have to guess the name of a place, thing, or person based on clues.

Have you ever asked yourself that question? Today we look at how you answer the question of who Jesus is, which will determine how you answer the question of who you are.

Radiant Reality

Luke 9:28-47

The reality of the world as we look around right now is a bit grim, and it is hard to see past it. Every now and again a brighter spot shines through but is quickly covered over again. However, that need not be the reality we live in. Find out how Sunday morning.

How's Your

Luke 8:1-21.

When we hear that question, we immediately think about how sensitive our hearing is. Can we hear a pin drop? But when Jesus asks the question, He is interested in a different measurement. To illustrate it He tells a story about seed. What does hearing have in common with sowing seed? Jump on Facebook or YouTube this Sunday and watch @ 9:30 a.m. to find out.

What Sort?

Luke 7:36-50.

What "sort" do you like? It rather depends on what we are talking about, doesn’t it? Pizza, cars, dogs, or music; there are a wide number of different "sorts." How about people? What sort of people do you prefer? What sort of people do you think Jesus does? Jump on Facebook or YouTube this Sunday,  @ 9:30 a.m. to find out.

The One?

Luke 7:18-35.

Much of the focus these days is on finding a vaccine that will give immunity to COVID-19. But that will probably mean testing a number of possibilities, because not all that are tested will turn out to be the one. What are the signs of the one who cures the most terminable disease of all, and how do we know He is the one? Jump on Facebook or YouTube this Sunday and watch at 9:30 a.m.

Say the Word

Luke 7:1-17.

In these challenging times most of us just want it to be over and someone to say the word that we can go back to normal. But who has the authority to “say the word?” Ultimately there is only one person who does, but what will it take for Him to speak it? Find out this Sunday and watch our live-stream @ 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube.

Dig Deep

Luke 6:39-49

A couple of months ago we might have seen our lives as challenging, but the challenges we faced are nothing compared to what we face today. Everything deemed unessential has been swept away over the last few weeks, and Jesus warns us of a similar future event and urges us to “Dig deep” and stay attached. Find out how with our live-stream on Sunday, April 19th @ 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and YouTube.

 Seismic Shift

Luke 6:17-26.

Seismic shifts don’t just take place in the ground, they can take place in every area of life when there is a sudden movement from the reality we are all familiar with to one which we have never known.

Getting on boarD

Luke 6:12-16.

Decision making is an everyday part of life (should I have eggs or cereal for breakfast) and then there are the infrequent important decisions we make; what college should I go to, should I marry this person, or take this job. This morning we will look at how to take decisions which get us on board and heading in the right direction with the most important decision we make.

Not a Patch

Luke 5:27-39.

Have you ever had a favourite pair of jeans that you were reluctant to give up despite the fact they had holes appearing in them everywhere? In the end there are only so many patches you can sew on before you have to admit defeat. Ever do that with life? It has become threadbare and you just try and patch it up as best you can? This morning we talk about someone who is “Not a Patch.”

Luke 4:31-44.

Fitness Test

Luke 4:1-13.

For any athlete the one thing they dread is getting an injury before the big game or event, and if that happens, they will do all they can to get on the pitch or track. But before a player can get back in the team she will need to undergo a fitness test to make sure they can endure the rigours of the sport. If you had to undergo a spiritual fitness test would you be allowed onto the field of play?

Luke 1:57-80.

Christmas Day is almost here and as well as the smell of delicious food in the air, there is also the scent of love as gifts of perfume nestle under the tree, and jewelry glints temptingly to couples passing by shop windows. Christmas does shine with love, but its sparkle doesn’t come from gems it comes from infinite loyalty. What does this have to do with love? Find out Sunday morning @ 9:30am.

Luke 1:2-25.

As we lead up to Christmas and the end of the year our thoughts often turn to hope; what we might find wrapped under the tree, time with family, food and fun, a change in circumstances for the new year – a better job, health or new relationship. Our hopes, however, are often crushed before they get off the ground with one word.
